The Helderberg Nature Reserve is a great place to go for an afternoon or early morning walk. Can go all the way up the mountain, and the views are amazing.

Through The Nature Reserve and up the side of the Helderberg in the morning is a great hike and there are various trails depending upon the difficulty level you want

As a regular attendee of the Sunday concerts, they are a must-do! A lovely natural amphitheatre, good acts, take a picnic, relax and enjoy the beauty of the Helderberg - for R40!!!! Best value around!

Lovely place for a gentle walk or longer hike .Lovely wild plants and birdlife. Great sundown concerts in the season .Nice tearoom.Good very safe place for picnic and children to run around

Unfortunately, I visited the Nature Reserve after the Protea bushes had bloomed. Still, the wild flowers that were in bloom were beautiful. What I enjoyed most however, were the remarkable views in every direction that the location affords.

We avoideded the other people by going off season and mid week. we had the place almost to ourselves - just the birds and animals and the view -- on Cape Towns' doorstep!

This is fast becoming my go-to place in Somerset West. It takes a little winding through the suburbs to find the entrance, but once you get there, the place is awesome.
