It was a dark stormy afternoon, one which people call "baby-making weather", I decide to leave town and venture into the winelands with my newly-made friend. After we sat down across from the window, a woman appeared dressed in red. she preceded to endulge us in an odessey of sense through the splendour of wine-tasting. Caryn managed to capture the... This winery was in a class all its own! The building itself is impressive, the staff professional and informative, but the view surrounding you will take your breath away! It was an ideal setting to enjoy the wonderful "fruits of the vine" presented....so good we had to have some shipped home! Vrede en Lust spoiled us for visiting other vineyards!

Just this past weekend, the local representative for Verde en Lust wines, May (Wu Meijun), invited us to a special wine tasting of your products that will soon be available in China. May organized this well attended function which introduced us to your products and to your winery. May gave an enthusiastic overview of the history of Verde en Lust... More

Lynne greeted us with cheer and grace, describing the history of each wine in detail. My friends loved the wine (I am a non-drinker but enjoyed crackers and purified water and free wifi). Groups under 4 receive complimentary tastings. First tasting came with strawberries, last with chocolate. The ambiance and style of this vineyard is divine, down to the artwork... More

Our excellent tour guide, Jason Wiltshire, found this winery for us. Set amid wonderful scenery, Vrede en Lust is worth a visit on that score alone. The wine-tasting took place in the most de luxe surroundings and the wine was served by the beautiful " ladies in red " our particular lady was Lynn who was not only stunning to... More

It was a bleak, raw, and rainy day, not the sort of day that you hope for in a setting as beautiful as CapeTown. Our guide Darrol Lee from the Mount Nelson Hotel suggested that this might be an opportunity to explore our palates. As he suggested, fine wine was a perfect solution. We pulled up to the Vrede en... We discovered this wine farm in 2012 and had lunch and wine tasting - both excellent. We returned November 2012 and February 2013 to experience their "food and wine pairing". Every aspect of this was superb - the food, the wines, particularly the matching of the wines to the food, and the service, both the food and wine. The Ladies... More

We had a wonderful time tasting at Vrede and Lust. They have a complete range to choose from. We were assisted by Caren, who explained each wine in detail and knew some history from the area. The farm is run on solar power and has been free from supplied electricity for three weeks. They have a fantastic Voignier, both fruity... More

We visited Vrede en Lust on the 30/03/2013 and where disappointed in the restaurant. Wine tasting was great, good location and great views, but the same cant be said for the restaurant. It was cold in atmosphere not particularly clean and the food was overpriced and bland. My advise go wine tasting and move on there are much better places... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my wine tasting experience here. The grounds were beautiful. The staff was very attentive. We had the cheese plate which was phenomenal. I am more of a red wine drinker, but I loved the whites here as well. I highly recommend a stop here on this wine trail.
