Beautiful, amazing, perfect, wonderful. This park is all that and more. Very easy to get to if you are staying in PE. The park is very well managed and very easy to go on Safari just in your own vehicle. The park his home to big families of elephants so if you are a elephant lover go.

If one had to find only one reason to visit the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, this is it. The prices for the many different accommodation options are reasonable and the wildlife experience is exceptional. The smaller, private run game reserves nearby might be able to offer a more glitzy and glamorous experience for those craving luxury and opulence... More

Hogs! We saw in order of size - Elephants, water buffalo, zebra, bocks, tortoise, baby tortoise, mice, dung beetles, millipedes and a few fly's Sadly we missed the lions! Loved it. You can take your own car and it's possible to even camp in the reserve. I recommend booking ahead as it was busy when we went. Addo has a... More

went on a guided tour around the park in the morning and saw plenty of the animals, the guide CK was very knowledgable and humorous. Food in the restaurant was very nice and reasonably priced. Tried a self drive around the park in the afternoon and had an equally great time. All in all a fabulous day out!!

Our experience was amazing. We decided on a self-drive. We arrived at 7:30 and spent the whole morning in the park. We saw so many animals and was blessed enough to see the ellies at the rooikat dam. We sat there 4 close to half an hour watching them play and wash and drink. We brought a picnic basket along... More

I have visited this park numerous times over the past decade and it is always fresh and new. The game, the beauty, the quiet hum of nature - and then the elephants. It is said that this is the largest elephant park in the world. So many elephants that it is hard to imagine. On one trip we decided to... More

We stayed at the very nearby Orange Elephant Backpackers (not just for backpackers though, has lovely double rooms and a nice mixed clientele). Great base for visiting the park, where we took a guided tour from our accommodation. Saw lots of elephants, both in family groups and lone bulls, buffalo, lion, black-backed jackal, secretary bird, heron, crane, warthog families, a... More

We have visited Addo Elephant Park many times. Sometimes just the two of us, but often taking friends & family who are over from the UK visiting us in our home in Knysna. We love the park, its' vast, undulating landscapes, hides, swimming pool, but mostly its' ellies! It is so much fun driving around, eyes peeled, not knowing what is... More

We have visited many of our local parks, but this was the first time in Addo. We stayed at Matholweni not main camp but drove through for a meal. The standard of the self catering accommodation was above average, each chalet discreetly hidden from the rest, and main camp has a great shop and restaurant. The staff are friendly and accommodating.... More
