The Tahoe Environmetal Research Center is an excellent place to learn about the Lake and its surrounding environment. I travelled to the US from S. Africa and was told I really had to visit Lake Tahoe. It was beautiful but I could find out little about it's issues and what is being done till I came here. The docents there are fabulous and so knowledgeable. The 3D Movie has to be one of the coolest features and it truly give you an in-depth look at the lake, literally! I learned so much. The green building tour was also very informative, I think I'm going to start planting native plants in my yard. Screw grass!

A must when visiting Tahoe. This science museum located on the ground floor of the Tahoe Environmental Sciences building has a state of the art 3-D theater, interactive screens, labs and docents.
