Absolutely a gem in our community. The art in YAM is quality and the shows are always thought-provoking and well done. I love the focus on western art and absolute attention to detail. Excellent program in Montana. We are blessed to have this museum in Billings.

This museum is an incredible gem in Billings. We went to see the "Uncommon Ground" collection which has the war shirt worn by Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce, as well as Western art by Charlie Russell, JK Ralston, and Frederick Remington. This is absolutely not a western only art museum. Their collections and exhibitions are diverse, challenging, and wide-ranging.... More

The museum is on the small side but there were several different types of exhibits. They also had a silent auction with local artists and a children's section from the area schools. Price was reasonable and I even found an artist whose work I particularly enjoyed. Overall above average experience.

Probably the best in Montana. The museum is well laid out and often has a good variety of works. If your coming from a big city you may not be very impressed.

The AHA collection was great. The selection of paintings could not have been better; quite a mix of contemporary as well as traditional art work. We were there the first Friday of the month and not only was the admission free, they had music as well as bar and appetizers. The building is modern, functional and the staff very friendly.... More

Small museum but they have some quality pieces. You have to get a key and walk a bit if you want to see the annex.

Great revolving exhibits and special events. We like the event where Montana artists are featured and their work is for sale.
