It's gone down hill. This was the place I loved to shop for all my St Louis gear but now I don't take anyone there. The shops are pretty cheap and sparse. Food court was good food but now just junky. I am probably not going back til the reviews come up!!

I was so excited to check this place out and man was I ever disappointed when we did. We had barely made it inside before someone was trying to run a con on my husband. We were approached about 3 times within the first 10 minutes. I was pretty much done at that point. I can't help wondering if that... More

Being a Tour Bus Driver, I have visited Union Station, many, many times over the years, taking groups who were really pleased to visit what was once a vibrant shopping and food stop, Today, I stopped in for the first time in a couple of years and found only about 5 or 6 stores open, and a food court on... We decided to visit Union Station while in St. Louis because I had read rave reviews about it on the BBC website before we came to the States. I should have delved a bit more - I thought it was going to be a working station with amazing architecture and although the latter is true there are no longer any... More

We visited Union Station back in 2005 and really enjoyed it. There were lots of shops, kiosks, restaurants, and almost a carnival like atmosphere. We were so disappointed when we returned last week. The economy has obviously hit the mall hard. Only a handful of shops and food-court restaurants remain. A few tourist milled about, but mostly there were some... More

Originally built in 1894 as a working train station. I have heard this was the only train station in the county where the trains backed in. The outside of the building is constructed of stone in the French Chateaux style believed to be designed by the architect H.H. Richardson. Some of the inside of what was the main part of... More

Union Station used to be really cool. I remember when it was always crowded and when the place had all of the best restaurants. Everyone wanted to hang out there. Now it has kind of died. The shops are bland and carry a lot of knock-off merchandise. I wish they could revitalize it.

Let me be honest in sayinf that I only have 3 reasons that I continue to visit Union Station while in the St.Louis area. Hard rock cafe, the fish outside in the lagooon, and the caricature artist. The stores within are just average and ones including merchandise to visitors are a bit pricey. The restaraunts in Union Station aren't all... More

i went to st louis union station several years ago and was impressed, but this time was a royal disappointment. its a unique building full of empty shops and people hanging out with no reason to be there. complete waste of your time.

This was the closest "shopping" option we had to our hotel by the Arch. We opted to get some exercise and walk the mile on a Tuesday evening around 7pm. Needless to say our first impression was it's dark in here and is it even open? We ventured in and decided that the architecture is beautiful and the place has... More
