I was recently at the State Theatre and it is an absolutely gorgeous location. My one suggestion to anyone going to an event here is if they are serving drinks, realize that the drink lines often run into the lines of people coming into the theatre. Dont accidently stand in the wrong line or you will be waiting a lot... More

Fabulous show put on by Chicago. We were in the second row so it was truly amazing. We've seen Chicago 6 or 7 times in the past 10 years...they just keep getting better. And the State Theatre is an excellent venue.

The venue is a beautiful old theatre. Our view was good except when Buddy Guy left the stage to play a number and we in the balcony couldn't see him. We went to the Johnny Lang and Buddy Guy concert. It was not always easy to understand Johnny's lyrics. I don't know if that it the acoustics or my hearing!... More

Saw Lord of the Dance there last weekend. It's a wonderful atmosphere being an old style theater, really adds a cool feeling. I felt in a way like I was in the movie "The Shining" in terms of the wall, ceiling, stage rich decor. Two main issues make this a tough one to rate high for seeing an actual performance,... More

Our daughter treated my husband and I to The Lord of the Dance at the State Theater in Mpls on February 23, 2013. What an absolutely amazing show! I highly recommend this show, it is suitable for all ages. A must-see if it comes to your area!

The adornements on the walls here are extravagant. Angels and what not from one end to the other. The seats are semi comfortable. I saw Daniel Tosh here and he was great. I saw Janet Jackson here and it was amazing. I saw the Pink Floyd lazer light show here and it was horrible. Hello the 70s called and they... More

I just went to the State Theater this weekend for a comedy show and it was my first time there. It was extremely beautiful and my only complaint is that the seats are small and extremely close together so you are pretty squished during the show/program. It is to be expected in a theater this old, and as a bigger... More
