This park is just breath-taking in the winter! A group of us went cross country skiing and had a fabulous time. The trails are groomed, one-way, and well kept. The trail maps are easily accessible and easy to navigate. There are a variety of skill leveled trails to choose from and you can truly make a day out of it.... More

The colors are perfect at this time of year, but you can really go anytime besides the winter and love everything about this park. The kids love the playground, the dogs love the space, and the family loves the walk and rushing water.

If you're a fan of cross-country skiing like we are, this park has some great trails. And, a few of them are lit up at night so for an added thrill and scenic beauty, try skiing here in the evenings. They do a great job grooming the trails, too.

Can enjoy park with kids or take hikes along scenic river or can take a variety of loops that make you feel far away from town and city life. River appears so different depending on time of year. Great X country ski trails in winter.

I loved this park. It was my first time hiking so I would say this is a basic path, not real long and not hard to traverse. We took our dog (leashed) while many other dogs were off leash. The views are amazing with beautiful trees, waterfalls, bridges, a gazebo deep into the park. I can't say enough about Lester... More

Lester Park is a fantastic park with many trails for hiking/walking with picturesque views of the Lester River. The playground equipment was destroyed in the 2012 flooding and is in the process of being replaced.

Discovered this park when we decided to do some geocaching. Excited to come back to walk the trails when we visit Duluth again. I didn't even know that gem was there.

good tables nice grounds, tall swing if still have them, lots to see , easy paths, rail bridge for looking at. Sometimes the scenic railroad does a pickup there. I think it's huuuge river , esp. in spring, the tall banks and cliffs make it look smaller. Good for a family amble.

Whenever I am in Duluth, I make sure I have at least an hour to walk the forested trail up and down stream in Lester Park. The Seven Bridges are impressive and a milestone for our way we dealt with the depression of the 30's. The playground is not much nor are the toilet facilities, but I forgive that for... More

Lester Park has a beautiful cascading, lazy stream with pools shallow enough for families to safely escapte the summer heat and go for a swim. Families (children) can play for hours while parents relax on the shores. There are picnic grounds, playgrounds and many shaded hiking paths through the woods that are a beautiful escape. A great stop for families... More
