Great little museum, and you can walk out to see the boats going through the canal. Been here many times, but still go every time I'm in Duluth

Even if big ships aren't your thing this is interesting. This is a great place to wander through while visiting beautiful canal park. It's free and that can't be beat.

Learn about the Great Lakes and why Duluth was built and see how iron goes from the ground to the far-away smelters. And several times per day you can watch a quarter-mile long ship pass a few yards away into or out of the harbor.

There is alot to see here. Its not just artifacts. It is alot of "how it works" here. It is amazing to see how things were done back then and how things have improved.

You can't beat the price! Artifacts & exhibits about all the Great Lakes, and Lake Superior in particular. Good view of the shipping canal too.

If maritime stuff interests you this will be a lot of fun. It is designed nicely for both adults and children and they have great restrooms. Should you not really find ships all that interesting, this place is incredibly boring. However, the price is right...free!!!

We've visited this museum several times with our children, and most recently with a group of friends...many of whom had never been there before. It is the most fun in the spring/summer/fall when there is a good chance you'll get to see an ocean-going ship go under the Aerial Lift Bridge. This recent visit was in the winter, when the... More

Small yet educational. Beautiful location at the base of the Aerial Lift Bridge. Close access to shops and restaurants in the Canal Park area. Great that it's FREE! Fun place to take the kids...they'll love to 'sound' the bell from the pilothouse.
