My guys loved ever bit of this. Right on the banks of Lake Michigan, beautiful setting. Take the tour of the ships, and don't forget the museum. A few hours of historic fun.

Michigan has been important in the past for Transportation around, over and through the Great Lakes. There are many old ships still underwater, airplanes, and a lot of other items under the water.
The most celebrated WW2 sub that still is afloat is in Muskegon. Moved here in '87, its new (er) home is right off lake Michigan in the channel that runs into downtown Muskegon.

I really am not interested in submarine history, but I must say....I am now. This museum tells a far greater story than just about this storied Silversides Submarine" I left knowing so many interesting things about much more. I recommend it to everyone!
My son and I toured this museum and the submarine. Both really enjoyed the experience. If this is something that you think you would be interested in, I would definitely recommend it. A reminder of what out parents/grandparents went through to give us what we have today.

Fascinating museum and submarine-USS Silversides. Very well kept museum and grounds. So inspiring and steeped with history. Price was modest. Take time to look at everything. The staff were awesome!
Small museum, but the cost includes the tour of submarine also, which was really cool. It was not busy at all when we visited which was really nice.
The museum includes a wide range of exhibits and displays focusing on the USS Silversides, World War II, the Pearl Harbor attack, submarines, the Cold War, marine technology, and Great Lakes shipping. The theater features a documentary film about U.S. involvement in World War II and the role of U.S. Navy Submarine Service. Museum admission can be purchased individually or...
