We went late in the season. Well laid out and lots of fun things to do there with kayaking and good walks. Good bird watching but that's not my thing.

Great hiking trails, and you can get to an isolated waterfront. Trails are well-maintained and well-marked.
WARNING: DO NOT VISIT WITHOUT DOUSING YOURSELF IN COPIOUS INSECT REPELLENT! The pleasant notices, sweetly semi-rural dirt road and inviting arrival at Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary in retrospect now remind me of a one of those alluring flowers or horror flicks which attract visitors to their doom. The elder volunteer at the front desk mentioned that the paths had been...

Would have rated it higher if we had just saw the butterfly gardens and the visitor center. The gardens at the entrance were nice and the visitor center made us believe we'd be in for a treat. However, our walk consisted of nothing more than seeing a swan and a few geese and LOTS of bugs. We tried two different...

Kids love it but it can be a very buggy adventure so be prepared. We love to kayak to the beach on Sengekontacket and hike in.
Would have been five stars if they had warned us at the visitors center where we paid our entry fee about the skeeters and flies. The did lend us one binocs but we were too buy trying to evade the bugs to use them. Did see a pair of swans and the trails are lovely especially on the beach, once...

Kids went to a week long creature camp here. Make sure you wear tic repellent and mosquito repellent, and sunscreen, and whatever other repellents are on the shelf...but the learning experience and the environment here is worth a bite. Staff is what makes this place so so special. One of the highlights of our trip.
I had a lovely walk and the staff were great to talk to about the birds I saw (or thought I saw). Beware of ticks though! They are rampant and carry nasty diseases.
Felix Neck is a great place to take the kids . . . many different walks all of them interesting (short to longer). They even have some "hands on" type things at times. Take one of the walks that give a view of the Vineyard Sound . . . very pretty.
You will have several lovely trails to choose from, all of them in the woods and marshes on the edge of the huge and beautiful Sengekontacket Pond. You're likely to see varied fowl and other birds and great views of the Pond.
