The Rockwell is a treasure onto itself offering something for all age groups. Even a place for young ones to make their own illustrations on Sat. Eve. Post copy paper. An incredible number of originals not only featuring himself and celebrities but Rockwell also used local people in his illustrations each of which has a story to tell in its... More

Convenient off the thruway with some New England charm along the way. Very nice collection and worth the memories and seeing some new experiences too. One can spend an hour or half a day. Worth the stop.

This museum brought back a lot of memories! It is well laid out, and the docent was very knowledgable. For anyone who grew up with the Saturday Evening Post, it is a trip back in time. It is a good museum for children as a lot of the illustrations are about children in everyday life. The studio was not open,... More

First, you have to accept that Rockwell was an illustrator, not a painter - he himself admitted that. But, he was one of the very best. We had the pleasure of listening to a knowlegable docent at the beginning, which really set the stage. The audio tour provides most of the same, but without the immediacy and warmth. They also... I enjoy visiting this museum every time we visit the Berkshires. The artwork is incredible, especially when listening in on the docent giving a tour. (If you do, be sure to visit Rockwell's studio on the grounds and have the staff person there point out and explain some of the items in there!!!) In the lower level there are are... More

I have visited this Museum several times, whenever I am in the area, because as a professional illustrator I like to see the work, in collections. of other illustrators. My only reservation in rating this museum is that the exhibitions are interesting, due to the subject matter, but they are not displayed with any special flair.

Rockwell is an American icon who's work followed generations of American history from the early 20th to the end of the 20th Century. The museum houses quite a few originals, a very informative tour and video, and an extremely friendly staff and comfortable environment. Doesn't cost much for admittance, either. The surrounding area has plenty to do, and if you're... More

First of all the drive to Stockbridge was fantastic! Such a wonderful tour of the New England farm country, through town 300-400 years old! The Museum has ample parking and helpful staff. We were lucky enough to walk in right at the time that a docent led tour was beginning that offered some great information about Norman Rockwell and his... More

If you are staying in the area - great activity with the family but anyone over 40 will enjoy even more-so. The grounds are beautiful and walking through the building is a walk back in time.
