My boyfriend and I just stayed down in truro for the weekend and went to quite a few beaches, Race Point was one of our favorites especially around this time when the weather is nice but the crowds are sparse.
We saw quite a few whales. Beautiful desolate beach. We walked a long way to get to the tip when really all you need to do is stay by the walkway if you want to. We saw 2 whales from that area when we were leaving. My recommendation-wear beach shoes! We left ours at the path from the parking lot...big...

Expansive pristine beach. You can watch whales from the shore depending on the time of the year. Ample parking. Great for long walks. There is a learning center as well.
We spent three hours walking along the ocean to Race Point Lighthouse then back along the "road". We encountered a total of three other people. It was a beautiful walk (and a tough one on the calves!) that ended in a rustic lighthouse on a deserted beach. I'm sure it's different come summer, but you'll have the place to yourself...

We were married here and the beach is absolutely beautiful! By far one of the prettiest beaches in New England.
We all likes these wide beaches in wonderfull spring sun shine. I the more warm month it must be great to stay there all day. How did two Camper cars get down on the beach. I hope that does not catch on. Cars are not for beaches!
the beach was clean and natural...not over-commercialized. We had a wonderful time walking and looking for whales. Saw some water being spouted into the air from whales!
This is the real deal, one of the jewels in the crown of the National Seashore. Water wind and sand in glorious long vistas. We saw seals, you might see whales further out if you bring binoculars.
With miles of incredible trails for biking and walking leading up to, and surrounding the beach, it was a lovely afternoon to spend. Water was beautiful, sand was fantastic, really clean.
