Rolling hills down to the marsh with the ocean beyond, wildlife trails, seasonal flowers, the best picnic spot, sunset and moonrise, hands down our favorite spot on Cape Cod!

If you only have a short time to spend on a hike (and have done the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary and its system of trails) then a well-worth local hike is the Red Cedar Trail in the Fort Hill area (Eastham). It’s prettier, more varied and has far better views than the similarly named White Cedar Trail higher up at... More

I guess the coast, its birds and the Edward Penniman House are the main attraction, but the signs of early farming are of interest too along the Fort Hill Trails. Well worth the short detour.

This area has one of the most beautiful views on the Cape. There is also a great walk to take, down to the water.

Gorgeous Views and a few nice hikes from here. This was the first place we stopped as we were arriving for our week's vacation. Just a beautiful place to get out and stretch our legs after being in the car for a while.

It is a wonderful place for easy hikes, so, very apt if you are with small children. You can see glacial debris, erratics, large stones carried by glaciers and left in new places, kames and large boulders everywhere. There are many wild flowers and wonderul looking trees. You can also go canoeing. The time you stay there depends on what... More

The small parking lot provides the best scenic view on the whole Cape. We go for a least a short visit everytime we're on the Cape. There's also a nice walk thru marsh and woods - but be sure to bring bug spray for that. Nice drive by the Penniman House on the way in. It has a very interesting... More
