The food was NOT good. Chicken was dry and overcooked, crust on the bread was so hard it was not edible and the coffee was barely luke warm. I would not go there again.

Want to roast a marshmallow by the fire? $5 please. The "resort" (aka hotel) at this park provided certain activities but nothing without a fee. The valets and bell boys insisted on carrying your bags so that was money out of pocket. We ate in the restaurant and the food took forever. Never plan to go back.
We spent 2 days in an RV at the campground. Spectacular scenery and nice large sites. We went during March and were the only people the first night. Very peaceful. The bathhouse was pretty clean and warm. Due to the weather, we just stayed at the site and burned a LOT of wood keeping warm. I will definitely go back...

I love hiking around Rocky Gap. There's a trail that'll take you to the Mason-Dixon line and of course there's a trail around the lake where you can see beaver attacks on the trees. I don't swim there anymore. The water isn't the best quality. There's plenty of other things to there anyways.
We love this park. We love tent camp. We had a RV but we sold it, we missed the tent camping. So this park is one of the best parks we stayed. We love the family bathrooms (great with small children). Kids always have things todo. Very clean beach, playground, very nice little camp store.
Mike and I had plans in Cumberland and La Vale so we booked a three night stay at Rocky Gap.
The snows came.We ended up staying put. But we went on three great hikes around the lake. The lodge looked magical at night from the far bank of the lake.
We had a mediocre lunch so were worried about the...

Just 90 minutes from Frederick MD, this park offers everything you might need. Located adjacent to the Rocky Gap Resort there is something for everyone. Lake Habib offers fishing, hiking. mountain biking, swimming(in season), and...

We like camping here with young kids and friends. Nothing better than sitting around the fire at night! In the summer, Cumberland tries really hard to have events every weekend (bands, festivals, shows) - specifically for families.
Camping: clean tent spots, and cabins. Bathrooms very good and accessible. Rangers come by to check on things (but also to manage or...

My first trip to Rocky Gap was last weekend, over the long Columbus Day weekend. My friend and I rented cabin #232 in the Hickory Loop. What a great park and even greater cabin! I thought the park was very clean, well maintained and the bathrooms were some of the best I have seen in a State Park setting. Our...
