If you want to see coastal Maine lighthouses in a day, this is a good place to start. We have done this road trip 3 times now, bringing different family members each time. Start by driving along York Beach, it's absolutely beautiful. Even take a quick stop to walk the wide sand along the beach, then hop back into the... More

'nuff said. Go see it, and bring your camera. Be advised that the water is kuh-hold, though. That doesn't seem to stop people from swimming, but I was not one of those people. Also, you can't go into the lighthouse, but that doesn't stop it from being beautiful.

If you are anywhere near this amazing place, you MUST go. It is so beautiful, it is almost surreal. I have been here in all sorts of weather, and I have never failed to be impressed. You will always remember Nubble Light.

Incredible Maine coastal destination. It is fun to share a picnic on the rocks opposite the lighthouse.

Great lighthouse on a little island just off the Maine coast, next to a family oriented beach (Long Sands Beach), just outside the town of York. Great photo op for the classic New England coast scene!

There are many drivers who think that the narrow winding road to the Cape Neddick Lighthouse is a racetrack! It is April 28, 2013 and my neighbor's mailbox has been mowed down by a fast moving vehicle and a flower garden on my own property has been hit by a car that could not stop before hitting the garden. As... More

I live about 7 miles from Nubble Light. I visit often as the scenery around the lighthouse is constantly changing. The lighthouse is visible from Long Sands Beach in York. To get an up close view of this beautiful, traditional, New England Lighthouse go to Sohier Park off Nubble Road. When you drive into the parking lot, you can see... More

Something magical about this spot. You won't be disappointed. The scene, the sounds, the smell. Perfect picture taking spot. Don't forget to hit up the amazing ice cream place nearby.

I knew there were no inside tours of the light house so I was not disappointed, but it would be great if some day it was open. Great place for a photo op. I will say this, it is much windier here than a few miles in. Take that into consideration when planning your visit. We went in early April... More

After having seen photos of the Maine lighthouses, this was well worth the trip. Great photo opportunities, a little chilly in March and April, but still a great experience.
