The views of the waterways are pleasant, and the few people we ran into were friendly, and the pictures never do the experience justice. It's the third time we've visited, and we will return again....

The boardwalk winds through the refuge offering views of wildlife (sea birds, a loon, and wild geese) with informative signs to explain what you are seeing. Because we were there in April, it was kind of raw and we didn't stayed only long enough to finish the walk. The visitor's center wasn't open. IF we get back to Wells duing...

Nice short nature walk with educational brochure for families, groups. Quiet forest overlooking salt marsh, sure to see waterfowl.
We have been to this reserve a few times. It is an easy hike and would be suitable for children. You do not have to be in good shape to do this walk. The trail is well marked and loops around to where you started. On our few visits here I have not seen much wildlife. Also many of the...

My first trip to the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge was with a college Marine Biology class trip. We had a great time, we did some water testing and just checked out the environment. I was very informational and a fun trip, I will go back again.
Loved it! Beautiful, but easy hike....views to die for. We took our son as a field trip because we home school. Saw lots of cool things.
If you love woods and marshes, is a great place to visit in Maine. There's an easy mile long loop trail. (Though it's not paved, I saw people with canes and walkers.) This is a beautiful place to walk and enjoy nature in Southern Maine. The trails are well maintained and seems rarely used. We love it. Very close to Rte 1, just off Rte 9 in Kennebunk
This is a very small area, but it is pretty. Views of marsh areas and tidal rivers. Minimal services.
Very nice, healthy, and easy level one mile walk that has beautiful views of the environment. View of ocean in the distant. An added benefit while we were visiting was scenic painters. We would visit again. Staff was very nice and informative. Located just outside Wells, Maine.
