Whether you hike or you drive, go to Mt Battie. It is more a hill than a mountain, but it offers beautiful views of the ocean, coast, and the town of Camden.

After a long car ride, we arrived late afternoon in Camden and had time to hike up Mt. Battie and enjoy the beautiful view. Love the Edna St. Vincent Millay connection too.
The Mount Battie drive is great. Once on top, climb the tower for an even better view. as others have noted, the view of the harbor with sailboats and Autumn colors is great. We have driven past the Camden Hills State Park for years and finally decided to make the stop while "leaf-peeping". We took the Mt. Nice morning hike with fabulous views of Camden Bay Area. We go back to Camden at least two times a year. Late fall is spectacular.
