Gracious living from an earlier time period is preserved. This is a pleasant walking tour location. The first weekend the neighbor houses a huge art fair. It is well worth the effort and having to deal with the huge crowds that the art fait attract to be able to attend.

We stayed at the Columbine B and B in Old Louisville and enjoyed this neighborhood. The streets are full of historic mansions many of which have been lovingly restored. St. James Square is lined with street lamps which are still lit at night creating a wonderful setting.

Old Louisville encompasses several blocks of homes that are about 100 years old. The homes are all very distinctive and some are very beautiful. Many are in desperate need of renovation. St. James Court, on the edge of Central Park is a block of beautiful, well maintained homes. Don't walk around Old Louisville after dark.

Great scenery if you're in to driving around. Buck's restaurant is in the area and is a great fancy dinner place.

Take a walk down this area and enjoy the amazing houses and gas lite street lamps. It made me want to live there. Take a tour of the Conrad-Caldwell House.

Like stepping back in time. Gas lighted streets, beautiful old Victorians homes, beautiful trees and landscaping, and friendly folks.

Newly redone rooms, very clean & everyone was very friendly, will stay here again. They have an elevator making it very easy getting all of your stuff into the room. Fresh coffee for the morning, but it's there all the time.

We thought a full five days of exploring Louisville would be enough. Wrong! There is plenty to do in the old part & new part. My husband said he felt perfectly safe as a family. There were so many people coming & going that I felt the same.
