We went to this museum only to find out that you must pay to tour the museum;however, the entrance fee included the village and 3 museums. So all in all this was well worth it. My favorite part of the whole area was the women's museum.

We have toured a variety of civil war museums but this one is a very interesting collection of civil war memorabilia that includes some information I had not seen before. One section is devoted to women involved in various ways that I found fascinating. There was also a section on the "bad guys" that took advantage of their positions as...

If you are a Civil War history buff, don't miss this little gem. This is an amazing collection of memorabilia that just fascinated our family - including 2 teenagers. There is a "village" to tour but it is nothing exciting. The real treasures are indoors. Visit early as they close in the early evening hours.
Very thorough explanation of artifacts. Nice presentation. Enjoyed very much. Be prepared to do a lot of walking if you plan on going to the Village. The Museum is manageable. The gift shop could use a little more merchandise.
We stoped here and where pretty impressed how much stuff they had. The displays where very neat. For 10 dollars you get admission to here and 4 other museums. They where all really neat. If you're in the area it's well worth the time to stop in. The amount of uniforms, guns and swords is very impressive. It was all...

We also got to see a civil war reenactment and then walk through a small village set up to represent the way people lived back then. We didn't visit any of...

Lots of interesting artifacts and an amazing wildlife museum. The old 1700 buildings/homes on site were cool. Would recommend highly to anyone interested in Civil War times.
Things were well lit and organized. People at the desk were friendly and helpful. Even though it was rather cold outside, we walked through the village and got a good feel for the time.
I thought this museum would be a quick in and out,but after spending a couple of hours in here,I can say that I was wrong.I had no idea that this tiny hamlet of Bardstown,KY held the 4th largest museum of Civil war artifacts. It is utterly fascinating and very much worth the price of admission!
I enjoyed walking thru the village and looking in the cabins that were set up with furnishings that would have been for that era. The Civil War Museum was very interesting too. Lots of memorabilia in glass cases.
