Fascinating. There is a lot to see. My kids could spend hours looking at the diorama and talking about all the habitats on display and the animals in them. They also love the tar pit exhibit and all the bones. The bug exhibit is great and sees a lot of traffic so most of the interactive items were broken on... More

In this building which is just cool to look at, is many amazing things that little ones can see, get scared of and then get interested in as well as the big ones to get lost in. Be sure to go to the top floors in the summer where you can see bees coming in and going out and doing... More

Located in the centre of Lawrence's University of kansas precinct, the imposing 1900's era museum building welcomes visitors all year round to see its natural history specimens. This is an old world museum containing an enormous variety of animals and marine specimens that have been reserved in their glass cases to enable close and detailed viewing of the exhibits. An unattractive old red limestone building on the "hill", but the contents are world class. Go on the web beforehand to get the hours they are open and find out what is being featured.

I had not been in this museum in almost fifty years, but found it both educational and interesting. Our grandson was very interested in seeing the displays.

The Dashing Kansan is a book of "The Amazing Adventures of a Nineteenth-Century Naturalist and Explorer" written by Bill Sharp and Peggy Sullivan . His name was Lewis Lindsay Dyche . Now we can enjoy and learn a lot with visiting Dyche Hall and the museum. You will not regret !

Have visited numerous times with family and also as a teacher with my class. It's best to not try to see everything at once, but study just one area. We do visit Commache (horse) on every visit, however. Don't forget to observe and study the architecture, as well.

Excellent museum. Interesting local history also. On the KU campus, which is beautiful by itself, and near the student union. Good for kids.

Wonderful place to take the family, several floors of interesting artifacts to see, very educational but not boring at all, and it's free!

I remember going to this museum when I was a kid myself, and my own son enjoyed it whenever I brought him. We always brought guests here, as well. My favorite exhibit was the living bee-hive.
