For centuries, people here have looked to the water for a sense of calm, a spirit of enjoyment and a connection to a heritage that is uniquely their own. That marriage of land and water is now embodied in a different kind of spirit. The Mississippi River Distilling Company hand craft Vodka, Gin, Whiskey, and Specialty Spirits slow and pure near the banks of the Mississippi River. Born from the finest grains, harvested just up the hill from the distillery. It’s a spirit born of land and water that draws each of us curiously back to a different era. Made for you, not for for the masses. « less

We loved this tour! Lots of information without getting boring. I thought I knew vodka but learned lots more. The tastings were very generous and they even had mixers to go with the tastings. The vodka is very good and it was a great way to taste and learn.

You've probably toured a brewery or microbrewery, but a microdistillery? Actually, micro is an overstatement. This all happens in a room not much bigger than some living rooms. About 6 or 8 vats, a three part still and a bottling facility the size of a soft drink dispenser. The "tour" is a fairly simple, yet enthusiastic, explanation of what they... More

Cool local operation. Was given a personal tour and watched actual production work. This small distillery uses all local product. Best part- the tasting room. In a word, SMOOTH! Nice selection including Rye, bourbon, vodka, rum, and gin. What else do you need?

A nice new distillery that is focused on customer service and experience can be found on the banks of the Mississippi in Le Claire. Free tours are available every hour or two. You are able to learn about the distilling process from the selection of ingredients to the final product. Very interesting stop if you are interested in alcohol or,... More

We happened upon this 2 yr. old distillery and waited for the tour. Tours are FREE. The gentleman who gave the tour was a retired chemist/school principal. He did a great job. We talked with one of the owners and loved to hear the passion he had for his business. They had a nice little set up. There wasn't much... More

Distillery tour is interesting, but the highlight of the tour is the tasting room (isn't it always!). They produce Gin, Vodka and most recently a blended American Whiskey. All are good... but pricey!

After visiting (aka tasting) at the Wide River Winery tasting room in Le Claire, we strolled right down the street to the Mississippi River Distilling Company to do the same. We missed the distillery tour, but were able to join the group in the tasting room to try some of their product, including rum and gin. Their location is right... More

They provide free tours and tastings on the hour. The tour is very interesting as they explain how the distillery was started two years ago and how their products are made. At the end of the tour they provide tastings of their products. They are limited by state law in how much they can serve. The first Friday of every... More

We were in LeClaire for a family reunion and walked here for the tour. The tour is about 30 minutes and they emphasize the fact that they use all locally grown products to make their products. The alcohol is hand bottled and corked and you can even track information about your bottle online. After the tour you are allowed to... More

We love this tour and the products they make. Everything is bought locally, and with conservation in mind. Great informal tour, and the product samples are a wonderful bonus. Come check it out on the First Friday of the month to sample recipes made with the liquors, as well as specialty drink samples made with their liquors. Perfect addition to... More
