Lots of Ulysses S. Grant history, pictures, momentous, etc. enjoyed it. There were figurenes, money, art, books, paintings.

I enjoyed all of the items from the civil war and U.S. Grant. The pictures and descriptions of the accounts of the civil war, from Fort Sumpter to the surrender from General Lee To General Grant, were most interesting to me.

Great place to start your visit you learn so much and get to see so much of the history of Galena. Felt like any question we had someone could answer it had menu's and day trips, etc. Beautiful old building glad we went there first. Helped us firm up or plans for our visits.

Helpful people, lots of things to look at and read about Grant. could have used a bigger building. Great display of the battles of the Civil War.

Loved viewing items owned by the Grant family and interesting facts about their lives.

The museum has multiple cabinets with clusters of artifacts from the civil war and the life of Ulysses S. Grant and his family. The written guide to the cabinets needs some updating as some contents have been moved around and some of the items are a bit less relevant (commercial souvenirs and the like). If you want homemade food like Grandma's ... this is the place. We split a meal again and had more than enough to eat ... great place to relax and cozy back room if you want more privacy.

After touring the U.S. Grant home, we wanted to learn and see more, so we sought out the Old Market House. We spent a good hour or so looking at and learning from their displays.
