Art exhibits, art classes, afternoon jazz concerts - large convention/reception halls available . Open to members and non-members. Adds a little class to the community.

Recently visited the museum for the first time. Wonderful exhibit of of European paintings (including a Rembrandt). Also on exhibit were clothes worn by Katherine Hepburn during some of her movies along a delightful marionette ex it from found objects The museum houses a Warhol and a Wyeth along with other famous artist. There is a sculpture garden which we... More

A lovely small museum with a small, but good permanent collection. The current exhibit "The Golden Age of European Art" is a good retrospective of 16th and 17th century northern European art. The sculpture garden is particularly interesting, and the museum has a good museum shop.

Well worth the time and money to wander through the exhibits. Reading about the origins, etc. of the paintings was informative. The clothing display of a reknowned actress shared various fashions of her films. The innovative display of "Recycled Dreams" rounded out the experience at the museum.

Wonderful exhibitions; they change 3 times a year, so there's always something new, plus a permanent collection gallery and outside sculpture park that is small but beautiful. Go see it! Only negative is a lack of signage upon entering - nothing tells you to stop at desk to pay admission. The Golden Age of European painting show that's on now... More

I never thought that a small town would have the where with all to support such a wonderful museum. The 70 paintings on loan for the Golden Age show (1600-1800 European) were of the quality that one would not expect to see outside a city of some size. There were 2 other interesting concurrent shows as well. What really blew... More

On our walk this morning we came upon the Very Beach Museum of Art, and luckily I had some mad money in my pocket to buy two tickets for admission. We enjoyed the exhibits that varied from old masters on loan from another museum, a whimsical exhibit of marionettes by Pablo Cano, and a strange exhibit of costumes worn by... More

There was a new exhibit - The Golden Age of Painting - which was made even better by one of their knowledgeable docents. Also a wonderful marionette exhibit by Pablo Cano which should not be missed. It's just a mile West of the beach, walkable if you want, and definitely worth the walk. Nice little gift shop too.
