What a great little theater. A real gem. We saw a very interesting show there about African Children that have been exploited, and helped. BUT I would go there to see anything just for the experience.
I regret that I don't go here more often - maybe now that they've upgraded their equipment I will. My one knock on the place was their accoustics, and apparently their upgrades have fixed that. Great - go there - it's a treat.
The way grand theaters used to be. Now a non-profit and now fully digital, it still retains its historic interior decoration. Wine and beer available at the snack bar, a real pipe organ descending into the stage, and films not to be found elsewhere.
Come early to browse the lobby before enjoying the theatre's 'take me back in time' atmosphere as well as to listen to the organ. It's always a treat when the music is done, the organ and player recedes into the floor. The shows are always well selected.
A gem! The Wurlitzer organ is amazing! We attended a sing along Sound of Music showing! Totally Fun!!

Parking in the streets is free after 6 PM and there are several places where you can eat while you wait for...

This place is amazing! To put in a nutshell, it is a blast from the past....they have pretty much kept all the original decor inside and the outside is not shabby either. I really feel like I go back in time to the early 1900's when I come here. Seeing a movie here is just a wonderful experience. I try...

Not to be missed. The most magnificent old movie theater you will ever see. Still has an organ player and an organ that comes up out of the floor. Make sure you walk up to the front of the downstairs seating and look up at the ceiling. The balcony seating is also fun.
The Tampa Theater is a bit of old Tampa history. Located in what was once the heart of the downtown business district, the interior is decorated in the ornate style of the early decades of the 20th century. It periodically shows classic old black and white movies. Prior to the presentation of the movie, the stage floor opens up and...
