This is the best public beach in the USA. The sand never gets hot to the touch (actually crushed quartz) and is as soft as baby powder. The other amentities available are everthing you would expect of a great public beach. In addition the beach is totally non-smoking which is great if you sensitive or have kids.

Powdery, white sand beach that never feels hot. Sand is like sugar with very few shells or other debris. Parking can be tough on weekends or in high season, but this beach is worth a little parking search. I've been to other supposedly beautiful "white" sand beaches in the Caribbean or the South Pacific, but they do NOT compare with... More

Great parking, beautiful sand! I only wish they had a small dog beach. We didn't try the food and beer concessions, but it was nice that they were there.

I have been going to Siesta Beach for two decades. It has 99% quartz sand which gives it a blinding white appearance. It also allows the sand to stay cool to the feet even in 90 degree plus heat. The bath facilities are nice and the bar and food are great. Get there early to secure free parking. The beach... More

This beach is rated #2 for the top beaches in the in the country or world for 2013 which is absolutely true. It is located in Sarasota, FL on the west coast south of St Petersburg. The sand is like talcum powder and doesn't get hot even on a hot sunny day. The water is beautiful and gets very warm... More

Sand like powder. Beautiful and relaxing days on the beach. Be sure to catch the drum circle on Sunday nights starting at 7:00. A lot of fun!!!

although this beach does draw a lot of people, it is very spacious (took me over an hour to leisurly walk to the end and back). the sand and very clear water are the best aspects of this beach. I would definitely visit again if I am ever in the area.

This beach does have white, white sand, and clear water. However, it is always super packed and impossible to find parking! Also, sunsets here are not impressive and not over water. I was a little bit disappointed!

Finest sand on the planet. Huge, flat beach with beautiful water and a smooth underwater bottom. The parking lot fills up early, so start your day in the morning. Food and facilities are all available, and you can even play tennis there when you are finished swimming.
