This was such a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours on a chilly April day learning about plants, butterflies, garden maintenance and more. Anita (the head gardener) is extremely knowledgeable and makes the tour so interesting. I'm a resident of the area and yet I learned so much new information. I'm planning to go back to see the... We came here one afternoon having read the other reviews on TA. Lots of interesting plants to look at....we came on bikes so no charge ($5 for a car), and got a self-guided brochure from reception. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

What a great property, with such an assortment of tropical specimens. The staff has managed to bring together an array of beautiful landscape plants that are a pleasure to stroll through AND benefit the wildlife who are lucky enough to make this place home. The design of the landscape is a prime example of how to do things right. We... More

Yesterday I toured the beautiful and peaceful gardens that surround the Sanibel Moorings Resort on Sanibel Island. It was quite a learning experience and a beautiful one at that. The variety of plants and trees is outstanding--and many were in bloom. If you can stay at Sanibel Moorings, you will find it exceptional. But if you can only go for... More

Most botanical gardens are collections. Sanibel Moorings Botanical Garden has seen the hands of several different gardeners, and offers both a wide, well labeled collection of plants and a clever arrangement. We took the guided tour which was great and came back the next day for another look with a "self-guided" tour. The garden surrounds and weaves through a set... More

We stayed at Sanibel Moorings and everyday noticed a new plant / tree we didn't see the day before. The gardens were lush and beautiful. Highly recommend. There was a sign saying they did tours on Tuesday mornings. Not sure if it open to the public or just guests.
