The street went from hussle and bussle to being peaceful. It reminded me of a European Street in an old town.

St. George Street is a great, fun place to take a leisurely stroll, do some shopping, listen to live performers, eat at any number of cafes, and take in the old buildings. We do St. George street at least twice every time we go to the St. Augustine area. Visits there never get old.
We go to St. Agustine at least twice ayear. We enjoy walking down George Street, all the shops and everyone is so friendly, Many places to eat, from snacks to dinners, and ice cream.
Super laid back and easy to love. No cars on this street so pedestrians rule. Shops are typically touristy with a few gems woven in.
St George is a fun place to be. Lots of unique shops for shopping. Rich in history. And so many wonderful choices for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks or drinks. We walked the area several times during or visit and kept finding things we had missed previously. It's also a fun place to be at night. Many shops closed rather early...

Everyone who visits the oldest city must come here for the unique shops and history. It is always a little on the crowed side, but that is to be expected. Went to the Panama hat company and bought a Tilley hat and my partner also bought a beauty.
After visiting the Castillo de San Marcos, it was nearly lunch time and we were asked several locals to recommend places to eat. All of them recommended crossing the street to St. George Street. This street is pedestrian friendly, has rows of (eclectic) shops that go on for miles, and of course, many places to eat. Dogs are welcome here,...

If you go to St Augustine, you have to walk down this old street. Lots of history here and tons of shops to spend your money. Prices are a little high, but worth. This street has tons of shops, restaurants, history (like the oldest school and drug store). Take your time and take tons of photos. Have fun.
My fiancé and I were on a 3 week road trip, and stopped in St. Augustine at the recommendation of another couple we ran into on a hike in South Carolina. We were very happy we did! St George Street will easily fill half a day if not a whole day, wandering in and out of the local shops, deciding...

This pedestrian friendly street was enjoyable for even the non-shopper in the family (me). We ate lunch and walked in and out of the many shops. Very nice.
