This was a cute garden to visit when it was too cold for us to go to the beach. Big enough to be interesting but small enough that it could easily be walked in it's entirety in an hour or so.
Good for a leisurely walking visit. The exhibit is Outdoors. Turn from main road was hard to locate with GPS.
I stumbled across these ruins on a bike ride the other day. I never knew they were here. I mean, I knew there were sugar plantation ruins around here somewhere - I just didn't realize they were right down the street from me.

While in a restaurant I picked up a local guide and saw the ruins listed so when we were looking for something to do we decided to go. The entrance was easy to pass up but there is a sign which leads down a dirt road to what turns out to be a very nice small park. The mill was...

ever wonder how they managed to produce molassas and sugar in Florida? Visit the Ruins and appreciae for how hard it was to be a slave in nineteenth century Florida, Makes one ashamed ot the people white men call their ancestors.
We found this by accident. Small but informative. Self guided with a small but pretty nature trail that made us feel we were in a jungle. It only takes 30 minutes of your time but worth it.
If you enjoy learning about Florida's history, this is a neat place to visit and it's FREE. Take note that the drive leading into the ruins really comes up quick and it's just a one-lane road leading back to the site. There are picnic tables and bathrooms. The information presented is quite interesting and there's even a trail you can...

It was quiet, undisturbed and peaceful. A nice interlude on a road trip down Old Dixie Hwy. We walked the dog and strolled around the perimeter. It was completely visible although one was not permitted to climb the ruins.
