Yes, there's the beach and the boom boxes. The seen and be seen on the boardwalk. The art deco district. The exhibitionists and the touristos. Eurotrash and old South American money. Way too many tattoo places on Washington Avenue. But the key thing is simple -- everybody's there to have a good time. And that's what's happening.

Enjoyed this area. Very expensive and very active with lots of life. it is sooo expensive to dine in this area. You can be bothered by the waiters trying to usher you to their restaurants.The one nice feature is the location - by the beach and by the park. Love these features.

parking is a big problem there. make sure you take ample time of parking at street paid parking . short time parking is a hassle. if you have to make it vacant after you ticket expires. carry stroller for kids if possible. they might not be enthusiastic to see semi clad girls :-) start early in the day. the more... Very calm and clean beach. Wasn't too crowded (went in the first week of May). Definitely coming back.

I do not know why people hate south beach it is gorgeous and beautiful! This was worth everything I am going to come again

I've been on worse beaches. It's a great place to watch people and to have a bit of swim but as a beach it barely makes the grade. We had to make a stop at the beach when we stayed in South Beach for the night. I wish we had more time to fully enjoy the area. The beach is gorgeous and the water is even better. The sandbars are awesome that you can walk out to. I will return and enjoy some more time on the beach.

What a great beach. Go early to reserve one of the "beds". It is an elevated queens size padded "bed" that hold 3-4 people. Great for sunning and people watching. Food is across the street. We found parking about 4 blocks away from Ocean Drive but we didn't care because it was a beautiful day to walk.
