Nice tall buildings, bad shops and nothing to do. The view at night is great with less traffic. Bayside and American Airlines Arena are close by, but if you are not going to those places, you may wanto to drive around the area.

Enjoyed the setup of the park, the water in the bay, boats etc. There was venders in the area with their wares.
Right next to the beach. All sorts of shops, restaurants, cafes, everything you can think of, everythings right there. Definitely very crowded. But an interesting place specially with that beautiful beach in vicinity.
I have worked in downtown on and off for over twenty years; my latest stint with different companies (but the same bldg) has been over ten years. What's wrong with downtown? I can not say enough good things about downtown Miami. We stayed at the Hampton Inn downtown and ate at several great restaurants (see reviews). I felt very safe and it was very clean. Also good activities like the metro mover (free) and AA arena for Heat game. Also great base for your vacation with easy access to other areas,...

Yes there are some homeless, yes theres traffic, yes some closed stores, but unless you must be in a Mall, downtown is now full of new restaurants, has an ambiance you wont find any where else in the city. Its like going to New York and not going to China town or SoHo. (Not exactly).
Anytime you go to Miami it's a nightmare. People don't speak English and you have the united divided nations down there. Going to the AAA arena and the parking is a joke. We visited bayfront park and parked in the garage and that was even over priced-for parking?? Although the view is nice, it's not worth the parking headaches nor...

OK, I will pay you not to have to go there! traffic at 3 mph, hot homeless everywhere dirty crowded... Rather be stuck in an elevator with 4 llamas! OMG!!! Why would you want to go there?! Awful!
