This was an unexpected pleasure! The house itself and the very unusual decor along with the grounds made a very interesting day! The background of the families that built and lived in the house an the history are quite interesting as well. The tour guide we had did an amazing job.

Bonnet House is the perfect thing to take visitors to see. The grounds are amazing and the house very unique. The docents are all very knowledgeable, but it is even fun just to wander around and read the plaques at various locations. To be able to have this one piece of paradise--undeveloped (except for the Bonnet House and surrounding buildings!)... More

Enjoyed seeing the house and art, hearing about the history, but there aren't any real gardens other than the one inside the house compound. Didn't see a tram as indicated by other reviewers. Perhaps that where you could see gardens. Would have liked to see the upstairs of the house but there are off limits.

I enjoyed walking through the house and looking at the art work. It must have been something else in their era. Love the history as well but I'm a history nut

I decided to go to Bonnet House after visiting the Hugh Taylor Birch State Park this past April. It had a historic, yet modern transition that lifted a sliding view of how well Wills and Living Wills are carried out and fulfilled. The environment was light and enchanting. The guided tour was a little hurried and left me wanting to... More

We really enjoyed this ecclectic house. It is quite different from many other historic homes. The art was really interesting. We only wish we had more time to tour the house on our own. The guide tried to keep the tour moving as there is one every half hour. Take the tram ride for a good explanation of some of... More

Built during the 1920s and 30s, Bonnet House was the winter retreat of American artist Frederic Clay Bartlett and his family. Today, Bonnet House is a whimsical and wonderfully ecclectic historic house museum, and a visit here is a very gratifying way indeed to spend a few hours while visiting Fort Lauderdale. The house’s setting is rare for South Florida,... More

We have passed by signs for the Historic Bonnet House for years and have never set foot on the property until today. What an interesting place, filled with incredible architectural details such as yellow wrought iron gates, painted ceilings, flora and even monkeys in the trees. Had been meaning to come to this property since it was featured in one... More

Our concierge mentioned this museum, and we decided to try it. What a special find! If you like history and art, this is the place. Our guide said that many "natives in Ft. Lauderdale" aren't aware of this treasure. The grounds are beautiful with flowers, trees, and monkeys. Don't miss this museum for an incredible tour.

This is one of my favorite things in Ft. Lauderdale. Our guide Lorraine was excellent. The history was very interesting, architecture was unusual, and art and collections displayed were fabulous. I also enjoyed the tram ride and commentary about the beautiful grounds.
