This is our local beach but we do visit lots of others too. Bonita Beach is a little taste of paradise. We like to park late afternoon on one of the free beach access parking lots, fish on the shoreline then go to docs for a beer and to watch the sunset...it is just perfect. At one end it's very...

Nice beach with a restaurant & facilities right there. Close to everything. Doc's Restaurant next door has a caual menu with great tropical atmosphere & a great bar. Convenient paid parking if free parking is full. There is also complete beach rentals including beach chairs & umbrellas, jet skis, and mini boats & catamarans.
Let me preface this by saying I love Bonita Beach and have been coming here for several years, The only complaint is the sand(?) or lack of it........the beach is extremely shelly and difficult to take a walk (even a short walk for example to the water) unless you have footgear. Otherwise.....paradise!
We were staying on Fort Myers beach but found the are a bit too noisy for dining out so ventured further afield for dinner. We did not have time to make it back to our hotel to see the sunset but stopped at on of the numerous beach access points on Bonita Beach. It is beautiful, unspoilt and very quiet....

Bonita Springs Public Beach blows away Barefoot Beach! Not even sure why they call it 'Barefoot Beach' because there are so many shells, you can't actually walk without shoes/flip flops on. Anyway Bonita Springs beach was clean, family-friendly, and was the perfect spot for our sunset viewing each night we were there.
The parking sucks, but the beach is clean and serene. Very nice for families with little ones. Doc's is a local eatery close by, but I wouldn't recommend it. The prices are outrageous and the place is always packed.
We could not find a parking space. We had to drop the teenagers off and then my husband and I went back to the HYATT REGENCY hotel in Bonita Springs to sunbathe and relax. We were fine by that because the hotel is wonderful!
if you go about 5 yards to the south you can find a bit more space but again the parking lot is a nightmare to find a spot and worse just waiting to get a chance.
Easy access, use the pay car park. Good changing facilities, including showers. Beach clean, plenty of room, some facilities for hiring jet skis, and parasailing.
