A Steamboat local took me to this museum. It was about $7 for out of town visitors. I really liked how information about the Steamboat area progressed from Native Americans, to early settlers, and then ski enthusiasts. This is a small part of the museum though. The other part is a victorian house with antiques that you can walk through.... More

Small museum in downtown victorian house, lots of information about the family that lived in the house. Lots of items that early residents of Steamboat Springs used to survive day to day. I really enjoyed it.

I am a history buff and appreciate all museums. This one is small but nice. They are working on expansion.

This is a very small museum with a $10 entrance fee per adult. Not really worth it for what you see, but it was kind of interesting to explore the early days of Steamboat and see the impressive list of Olympians who hail from the town...more than any other US city.

We spent a couple of hours here on a hot July afternoon, browsing through the well-preserved Victorian family home, which is filled with donated artifacts, and browsing the skiing exhibit. (Who knew that Steamboat Springs has sent more competitors to the Olympics than any other town in the US? Who knew that ski jumping as a US sport started here?)... More

The museum is housed in a Victorian Era home just a block of the main drag. The contents of the museum takes the visitor back through Steamboats history with a great collection of pictures, antiques, and a fantastic collection of skis and winter sporting equipment. We visited with the intention of only staying an hour but ended up staying 3... More

The museums covers a lot of themes. I especially love the history of the types of skis used and the ski samples they have. Its a great place to absorb some history of Steamboat Springs and appreciate what many have contributed to this town. For a rest day from skiing, this is the place to be.
