I would highly recommend First Ascent for a rock-climbing experience. They were organized, efficient, and personable. Our guide, John, was very safety conscience, fun to be with and he knew every inch of the area where we were climbing. Our girls (8 and 11) had climbed indoors, but never on actual rocks, and they were eager to try it. The... More

Our grandsons and two of their friends, ages 15, enjoyed an afternoon of rock climbing with Sam J. None of the four had ever rock climbed. The closest they had ever come to climbing was a tree in their backyard. Sam was an incredibly patient, conscientious, gentle instructor. He coaxed the youth up and back down the rocks on three... This was my second time climbing with John at First Ascent Mountain School. This time there were only 2 in our party so we each got to climb more. We climbed at Garden of the Gods this time, and the views are spectacular. John is a terrific instructor. He is patient, encouraging, and very experienced. If I ever get back... More

From the scheduling of the trip to the actual climb, First Ascent was superb. John made me feel comfortable booking the trip and answered all the questions I had. He met us right on time at Garden of the Gods and took us right to the rocks. Though we had only ever climbed a couple times indoors, we got to... More

My girlfriend and I were on a road trip and had a stop in Durango. Went on the zip line tour. It was a blast! The guides were great.

Two of my good friends came in from Pennsylvania. Went climbing at the Garden of the Gods and it was absolutely amazing. Great weather and scenery. John was great. Very friendly and answered all of our numerous questions we asked. He made it very comfortable for first timers and helped out in every way. Absolutely planning on doing it again... More

This was a great trip and I had a blast. My wife on the other hand would have been happy with a couple of hours instead of 4. Our guide was great and tried to keep everyones spirits up when they struggled. I've considered buying snowshoes in the past, but this trip has put it much closer to the top... More
