After mountain biking down Pikes Peak and hiking in the Garden of the Gods, my boyfriend and I were heading up to Golden, and wanted to find a hike close by. After a two hour search, I found EC and i am so grateful stumbled on it on Trip Advisor and Yelp. It was a review on Yelp that convince... More

Take a deep breath of fresh air, literally. First off, $8 for a car entrance or $3 for walk in entrance (per person). Utilize the $8 entrance because parking is reserved w/in the town areas. Back to beauty.. pack a lunch and sit aside the creek, either listening to the water rushing by or viewing the rock climbers above. We... More

The hiking trails climb up canyon walls. Every few steps we can across wildflowers and birds. The views were unbelievable. Along the creek was a nice place to picnic with plenty of tables.

The road to the actual entrance was a little shady, however the park is great. We hiked the Eldorado Trail. It was a moderate trail and great views in several parts along the trail.

Drove out to the Canyon through a really cool old West town. The road is dirt and full of potholes but it adds to the character. We saw several rock climbers and we took a nice hike on the Rattlesnake Gulch trail. It was a moderate hike that reveals and old hotel site and an overlook to the Continental Divide... More

Easy to get to off of 93, a beautiful drive there, hike the trails in the one of a kind Flatirons, a different experience than other hikes around Denver, shady in spots, easy to moderate hiking.

Eldorado Canyon State Park is our rock climbing and heavy duty hiking park. Trails climb from the creek to the very top of the hills. There are a couple of easy trails. The trail to the old hotel is the best. Today, the trail was still a bit too snowy for gentle hiking. The creek was very low due to... More

Eldorado Canyon is a good place for locals, to enjoy a family picnic or hike. When we first came to Boulder (1975) we actually camped next to the river, though it's not possible now. It is pleasant and hasn't been changed much by many visitors. Years ago when my children were young, we loved going there to swim and play.... More
