Very educational and we take every visitor to California that stays at our house to the train museum. The museum is run by knowledgeable and happy to be there docents!! The price is high but understandable to keep up the museum.

I had been to Sacramento many times and had never had a chance to visit the RR museum. I loved the Mail Sorting Car and the Pullman that rocked like it as on the road. The golden spike was fun too.

Even if you aren't a train fanatic, go to this place. It will be the best 10 bucks ever spent. Two acres of locomotives and rail cars all indoors! They have volunteers that dress in period uniforms who really bring the exhibits to life.
