Traveled fr MA for a meeting in SF. Spent a couple of days in Napa and Caymus was high on the list given our experience with their Special Selection Cab. Mike led a very friendly and informative tasting with 8 visitors answering all questions with great expertise and patience. The highlight of the tasting was the 2010 Special Select Cabernet... More

of all the wineries we visited the last 2 trips, this is the most memorable. not only is the staff friendly and approachable (you assume knowledgeable at a winery, altho that is not always the case), the wine was absolutely far and above the best. we usually avoid the larger well known wines we "See at home" so we almost... We did the upgraded tasting. This was a small group and we got to taste some of the estate wines in a private room. The taste guide was very knowledgeable on the entire collection, not just the wines that we tasted.

We arrived too late to purchase the full tasting, so the bartender gave us a taste for free! He even took us in the back and took pictures of us with the world's largest wine bottle. He was very fun and accommodating. Great experience, and the wine was good too!

Several people told us to try Caymus, they make a great cab. Caymus is a beautiful setting. However, you walk in, belly up to the bar with guys in tshirts selling the wine....and that seems to be it. Pay us the $15 bucks, we'll push our Pinot which was really only sort of OK (very beautiful bottle though) and that... More

I liked the prior version of their tastings better - more expensive and exclusive, and focussed more on the "heart" of the Wagner wines (Cabernet) than the current version, but is was still GREAT. Our host (Mike) was knowledgable and gracious, and really did a great job. Highly recommend!

This is not just Caymus but also Belle Glos. Friendly hosts pour great wine and give good conversation. The wine club is typical but the wine is worth the investment. Conundrum is their white and it's OK. But the Belle Glos Pinot is splendid. The Caymus Cab is so exquisite that you have to buy a bottle. Wonderful stop.

Private tasting is worth the money. You get to taste the Special Selection and get more information on the Wagner family and their wines.

The $15 dollar tasting consists of 3 wines that are all very good and you get to keep the Reidel wine glass when your done. They also have a private tasting at a cost of $30 per person that will leave you very satisfied when you are done. Don't forget to ask for the glass when you are leaving.

The wine is very good, without a doubt. You will not be able to tour w/out an appointment. Our tasting went okay. Had better experiences at other wineries. Again, we have always loved their wine, still do. But, the staff seemed like they were enjoying interacting w/each other a lot more than interacting w/people who were coming in to taste.... More
