When you walk down a street here you feel transported back to time where the 21st century wasn't even imagined yet. Coming from an area of the country where all of this era's buildings have been destroyed it 's wonderful to see someone had the foresight to preserve it. Well done, novato.

There is a lot offered in a short length of road. Nice stretch of food, drink and shopping. You will find it is not like going to the mall.

Lots of boutiques, places to eat and plentiful, unmetered street parking. A couple antique shops in the mix, and a gigantic Whole Foods at the very end of Old Town juxtapose mom-and-pop vs. corporate America. Truthfully, the Whole Foods ruins the Old Town vibe.

I like how there are many nice restaurants and shops in this area. I work nearby and it's great to go out to lunch with co-workers, but also to visit the banks nearby, and whole foods as well.

When I lived in Novato, almost everyone there was great. They were friendly, happy, and fun to be around. Maybe things have changed now that the economy has tanked. It may be a very long time before the economy gets much better, so look for real friends, (the kind you don't need to impress with new things).

Of course, I always go to Farmers' Market on Tuesdays during the summer. I love eating outside at several of the restaurants, watching the world go by. I am glad they are trying to keep it representative of what Novato once was. I can remember Saturday nights when there would be horses tied up on Grant Avenue.

Old Town Novato is a bit of a joke, much like Novato. I live there and when i visit other towns in Marin and Sonoma I realize just how dirt ball Novato is. Until all the old retired farts die off and the rednecks are outnumbered by people moving there from SF Novato will never feel like Marin. More like... More
