We recently enjoyed a tour and tasting at the Hendry Ranch. We were given lots of good info on wine-making and tasting. You can use the tour fee toward wine purchase at the end of the tour, which we were happy to do. A great way to spend the afternoon.

We were taken around the winery and explained the entire process of wine making by George Hendry himself. Could not have got someone more knowledgeable. We got to taste about eleven different wines. Great experience

What makes this tour different from other winery tours: it's a mini course in wine-making and wine-tasting; the $40/pp tour fee is subtracted from wine purchases. Having George Hendry, owner and wine-maker, give the tour makes it particularly interesting. It would be on any list of recommendations I would give for visiting Napa wineries.

If you want to learn about wine, take the tour at Hendry wines. You won't regret it. If you just want a quick, simple sip and go, search elsewhere. Very informative tour, excellent tasting, friendly staff. George is the man! Not the place to go if one is looking for a quick tasting.

This isn't like most of the other vineyards I went to in Napa. You can keep reading more reviews about the great experience at Hendry...or just schedule the tour to see for yourself. After George's tour one only needs to do tastings at the other wineries...and learn to ignore the host blather about how any wine supposedly tastes and smells.
