We stopped by Andrew Molera for a quick hike out to the coast after spending most of the day inland hiking among the redwoods. The area was pretty and we got some nice views, including our first sea otter spotting of the trip. Seemed like a nice enough park but not nearly as impressive as Limekiln, Julia Pfieffer, or Pfieffer... More

Easy trails with superb views. Beware of poison ivy, wear trousers and long sleeves, wash them back home: this is serious matter.

My friends and I were camping at the nearby Pfeiffer Big Sur SP (5 miles south), so our camping fee also got us into this SP, hooray! We were looking for a longer trail with great views that wasn't too strenuous, and we got exactly what we were looking for. We started at the main parking lot, where we immediately... More

We had just completed the Pfeiffer state Park hike to the falls and the $9.00 (senior rate) allowed us free access to the Andrew Molera. Not having a lot of energy for another hike we did not spend a lot of time hiking, but did find it appealing that they had horseback riding available. Also, the folks at the entrance... More

Here you can walk across meadows to the ocean and play at the Big Sur river mouth or hike up above the cliffs to the south and explore coves and hidden beaches. What a treasure.

ok park, couldn't take the cream whatever trail since there was no bridge, and have to take a detour trail to the beach. Had to cross a creek with knee deep water, but creek was full of stinky seaweeds. I can skip this park and go to Julia Pfeiffer Park.

It mostly still looks like it did a hundred years ago and the best way to see the park is walk or ride a horse...just like a hundred years ago. There is a horse rental facility and with permission you may be allowed to bring your own horse. Dogs, on the other hand, are not welcome or permitted because the... More

Following the recommendation in our guide book we set off to the Andrew Molera State Park. We had to pay 10 dollars. I don't object to this at all but, in return I do expect an adequate map to be displayed as well as one or two helpful signs to the beginning of the beach walk. Initially we set off... More

A little bit of a hike to the water-beach is pebbly not sandy. The beach is quiet and feels more undiscoverewd than the Carmel or Monterey beaches. Also a great place for hiking. But definitely consider the horse rides.
