Driving and walking along the North Coast in the Mendocino area is inspiring and renewing. The air is clear and cool and the wind strong. The views are dramatic and beautiful.

if you can get a clear day it's breathtaking. be warned, the roads are very curvy so if you are prone to motion sickness be prepared.

Words won't do it justice - it really must be seen to be appreciated. Make sure to spend a few days here to relax from all the hiking / wine tasting / city bustle when in SF state. It really is a special place and will leave you feeling super pampered and energized

Scenic drives, great B&Bs. If you are lucky to get a sunny day, it'll be more fun. If it is hot inlands, the weather at the Mendocino coast gets foggy

Be sure to bring a windbreaker and a warm sweater to Mendocino. Even on summer days the coastline is cool and the wind can be fierce. But on those rare, special days when the sun is shining and the wind is calm, there's nothing better than hiking through the wildflowers along the headlands, and then stopping to enjoy the view... Mendocino has beautiful views. It can be windy. I won't take a plein air class there again, but would love to go back for a studio class.

If you are a fan of Murder She Wrote or movies like Overboard that we're filmed here, you need to visit Mendocino. In the first seasons of Murder She Wrote many scenes were shot here. The town overlooks the rugged Mendocino Coast. There weren't as many stores as there were five years ago.The beauty of the area more than makes... More

Both the town of Mendocino and the nearby Botanical gardens are special and worth a two or three day visit

The coastline is rugged and intriguing. It's nice to be able to pull into parks and turn-outs to take time to appreciate nature's majesty.

Lots of beaches to visit, some close to town. Not crowded. Lots of birds, whales, tidepools, the famous Pt Cabrillo Lighthouse, many wonderful rock formations, some dog friendly beaches, Isolated from the madness of big cities, the Coastal area of Mendocino County is one of the most beautiful and friendly places in the world.
