If contemporary art is your thing, and if the large crowds of major museums are less than appealing, you should like this little gem in La Jolla. Each show offers a new look at the world of contemporary art. The staff is well prepared to "talk" art, but walking quietly through the museum is always a wonderful opportunity…especially seeing the ocean through Bob Irwin's beautiful point of view!

Very varied and interesting collection for a museum its size. Nice gift shop, easy parking. Liked the room exhibit with open windows to hear the surf.

This is a great little museum to enjoy a cultural hour in La Jolla. The collection is a bit of an oddity, but interesting just the same. Lovely Deborah Butterfield horse sculptures and a few California classic artists. I'd definitely put this on your list - and I heard the cafe is nice but haven't gone myself.

This museum has on display a small part of their permanent collection of California art. The current photography exhibit was only so-so. The sculpture garden is small but has fantastic views overlooking the ocean and is worth the visit.
