The south is better & harder to play than the North course. It costs less than most golf course overlooking the Pacific Ocean--Kapalua Plantation, The Challenge on Lanai, Pebble Beach, etc... It's hard to believe that it's a municipal course....not private!

I would definitely recommend calling the course beforehand to find out what the conditions are, if they punched the greens, etc...This place is not cheap for out of towners, especially after the 2008 US Open. It is a municipal GC so it can be heavily played and it has city employees. It can take quite a while to play here... More

I am lucky as a resident of San Diego to be able to play at the course. In the past 10 years the price to play here has skyrocketed, due to US Open being played here, being an annual PGA tour event during the early part of the year in the West Coast Swing. As an out of towner you... More

If you are a golfer, this is the place in SoCal. Stay in La Jolla, Stay in Del Mar. The wind off the ocean makes from some challenging shots. Good luck.

the name says it all...one of the best publc golf couses in the USA...right up there with Bethpage Black. Play it if you can. And in the grand scheme of golf pricing, it's reasonable.

These are 2 of the greatest public courses in the country and I am just glad I live in San Diego and can enjoy them. Both courses get a lot of heavy use in the winter months after the pros come here. The greens are not as perfect in the winter as they are in the spring, summer and fall,... More

Played the less-expensive North course and it was in beautiful shape with gorgeous views. The course is very walkable too.

Torrey Pines was one of my top ten golf experiences. I got to play the South course twice and would definitely recommend it. Keep in mind it is a public course. We played it in March 2013 and it certainly was not in tournament condition. The greens were pretty fuzzy and slow. I repaired a lot of ball marks. I'd... More
