My mother and I went here on our vacation to Iceland. We were greeted by a very friendly woman by the name of Asta Price. Their facility, bathrooms, & showers were clean and modern. The nature bath was beautiful! The water was a darker blue and more clear than the blue lagoon, which was really pretty. We were able to... More

Much less crowded and much more scenic than the Blue Lagoon near Kefalavik Airport. The sulphur smell seems to hep keep the my tans (Icelandic for midge) at bay too that's a real plus! Very relaxing and therapeutic. Good changing rooms and showering facilities. Great bar inside serving lava bread and char sandwiches, washed down with a beer as th... More

I liked Nature Baths a lot. Unlike the Blue Lagoon, it wasn't as busy or as big. No free mud but the surroundings made up for it. Imagine a cold mountainous place and dipping into a hot spring. It was serene, relaxing, and simply wonderful. The staff were nice and the facilities were clean. I was a bit weirded out... More

My brother and I were heading up North so we decided to give this bath a run for our money. It's not that it bad, but after going to the Blue Lagoon a few days later I'd say Myvatn is average. The plus sides are: less crowded, cheaper, low key & casual. Down sides are: Smelly (sulfur), COLDER TEMPS UP... More

We came here in early April during our two-day stay at Stong Cottages in Myvatn. Much less crowded than the Blue Lagoon. In fact, our family of 5 had the lagoon to ourselves for the first 15 minutes of our visit. Not as sophisticated as Blue Laogoon, but still a nice hot pool experience. The sulfur smell on our visit... More

As one other reviewer wrote, 'forget the Blue Lagoon - come here instead' - how right they are. The place is spotlessly clean with friendly and helpful staff. Towels and even swimming trunks can be hired if necessary. There is a range of pools at different temperatures ranging from cool to very warm as well as a sauna. Changing rooms... More

Ah this was heaven. I like the baths as everything was good and the place was moot crowded. I did not go to blue lagoon but my friends preferred Myvatn baths to blue lagoon. We enjoyed very sunny day and stayed about 3h all in (mainly in the hotter pool). Ah heaven. One of the most relaxing time I have... More

We visited this place as part of our 'fly-drive' holiday, taking 2 weeks to drive around the island, in the middle of summer. Myvatn was one of the highlights of the holiday - having had dinner earlier in the evening, at our nearby hotel, and because of the midnight sun, you are not restricted by having to go to bed... Having visited in February, crowds were not a problem anywhere including Blue Lagoon. However, the drive to Myvatn is other-worldly. Stopped at Cow's Head Cafe just a few clicks away from the nature baths and had the freshest food I have ever eaten. Myvatn nature baths are in such a beautiful setting. The ground is steaming in this part of... More

Now I am about to break my rule of not rating attractions, but I really have to do it in this case! After visiting this property last July, it became an automatic part of our schedule for this winter. Again, no regrets! My advice is, if you are planning to drive around Iceland, do not go to Bláa Lónið as... More
