The views of the city of Ushuaia in the early morning light were wonderful. It was also handy to hide in during the night before we had to face the Gales of Drakes Passage.

Ushuaia and the Ushuaia bay are a wonderful place, snowy mountains going directly into the sea. It's a wild, untamed nature - beautiful in every way. Take a walk or excursion, enjoy the calm and authentic place.
We boarded a catamaran and visited the islands where there are hundreds of seals and Magellan Cormorants. The boat circled the islands and we had a wonderful look at the life on these islands. There were incredible opportunities to photograph and video these animals, that just ignored us. It is well worth taking one of these tours where the wildlife...

There is a lovely walk around the bay. You can view some of the sea birds and a ship that was once used to help rescue ships that ran aground since it was so large. Today it rests on the bottom and grows grass on the main deck.

The company reconfirmed our reservation by email and gave us directions to their office the day before the scheduled boat trip. When we arrived at their office, we were told they did not have our reservation and denied knowing the two people...

A place to take the most "cult snapshot" at the plaque which says "Ushuaia - The End of the World". Won't you like to leave there without have this picture on your Facebook, will you?
Taking a local taxi to the chair lift in Ushuaia enables you to see a little of the living houses and "suburbs" and the chair lift is about Aust $7 return. Good walking trail to glacier but nice also to just go up and back and have fantastic views of the massive Beagle channel. Nice town and people. Patricia in...

We walked the town and went along the waterways which to me is Ushuaia Bay. However, if you consider Ushuaia Bay to be a destination in the water, then we're not on the same page (I consider the water to be the Beagle Channel). Anyhoo, our exploration of the bay along the coast could have been better. There was lots...

We went by sailboat on a tour of a few islands in the bay, via one of the outfits that has an office down by the harbor. The ride was cold, rainy, and wind scorched, but somehow that added to the life of it. I definitely recommend going out on a sailboat, as opposed to the plush motorized boats that...
