The colorful Spanish tile and historical plaques all around make this a great place to play and learn. It's small, but filled with information. The monument of the ladies holding grapes and a book truly represent the city.

You'll be walking past here daily if you're staying in central Mendoza; this is probably the best of the five parks, it has an enormous monument with murals to Hispano-Argentine friendship and a variety of attractively-tiled benches and fountains.
This is a small plaza with elaborate tile work. Unfortunately the plaza is a bit uncared for but it is worth a walk through. It seemed popular with a few skateboarders. I think this was my favourite small plaza of the four plazas around Plaza Indepencia.
nice to hang out in, relaxing, nice restaurant La Tasca on one side, great food, good people watching
The tile work in the park is unique and work a good look. The park is close to downtown and you willl probably walk though Plaza Espana anyway. It is a good place to enjoy an empenada or some other sort of a picnic lunch. The only downside is it was always crowded. The upside was a great ice cream...

The sad thing is that the park has been sprayed with graffiti, the fountains was not operational. But if you just want to sit and meditate its ok.
It can be really hot in Mendoza & two of the best things about the city are that the streets are tree lined & therefore shady & that there are plazas placed throughout the centro with pleasant benches, trees, fountains & children playing. The locals join the tourists fully utilizing this lovely respite from the heat of the day so...

Great reminder of the Gaudi architecture. Spent à whole afternoon in the park reading, really felt like Spain.
Of the four parks surrounding Plaza Independencia, this was my favorite. It has a small mural in the middle and is the best landscaped.
This is a fantastic place to sit and read a book--there are gorgeous little benches, all covered in Spanish tiles.
