The produce is fresh and tasty. Excellent coffee beans can be bought there. Go early as the place fills up quickly and it actually becomes difficult to get to the stalls.

If for no other reason... EAT there! Don't buy the flowers unless you realize that they have been boiled/steamed at the bases to keep them looking fresh and that even if you cut them, you will have a very short life for them. They are very expensive for such a short "shelf life" One of our favorite places... go EARLY!.
Saturday markets here are packed! Obviously many folks know about the wonderful foods and drinks on offer, as well as the permanent shops too. Make sure you have enough time to browse and a big shopping bag too! Try the seared tuna on noodles with a pure fruit smoothie or a glass of champagne...
I expected more like an African market, not this expensive arts and clothing. The food market was cool tho !
Enjoyed walking around, very expensive and obviously aimed at the tourist market. But still enkjoyed very much.

Most of all, we loved the atmosphere and activity - and the crowds of people sitting together and...

The idea is great but it has become a mission to get food or drinks because the place gets too busy. There is hardly any place to sit at peak time and food can be a little disappointing. But generally speaking, it's worth going, at least once to have experienced it. Great concept!
You are not cool enough for this place. You'll never be.

This place is too trendy for it's own good and is yet another sad example of how hipsters move into an...

I love this food market and try to visit it every time I visit Cape Town. With a wide variety of food to choose from, there will be something to cater for everyone's tastes.
Great way to spend a Saturday morning - just remember not to eat breakfast beforehand - as the food is fantastic. All the store holders were interesting, passionate people and the produce was exceptional.
