My husband and I had some time to kill in Joburg, and decided to visit Liliesleaf. Wow! Incredibly impressed! It is a superb museum, that is world class in it's layout and use of technology. We had a great time and learnt so much. I can't recommend this place enough to South Africans and foreigners alike!
This is a most amazing museum. First I was overwhelmed with emotion, not already knowing very much about South African history. Then I was overwhelmed with information. There is so much to see there. You can do a fairly quick walk through in a couple of hours or look at everything and spend a couple of afternoons there. Very well...

World class museum that is interactive and informative. Not your old-style typical museum where you are required to read loads of 'articles' pasted onto walls. Lots to see and very interactive and visually informative. I leant so much about the role of the farm in SA history and discovered so many stories and facts that I had no idea about....

Great displays and excellent information. Tour starts with a short documentary style video. The tour guide adds very little to the experience other than the opportunity to ask questions. It is easy enough to wander round through the various small buildings and displays are user friendly. Their is wheelchair access to all places. Good videos explain the various stories through...

For those interrested in the political history and uprising, this museum gives you the information of the under ground structures to oppose the apartheid government and the people involved. It is a great visit.
This museum offers so much information about how numerous anti-apartheid activists met in secret at this farm and then ultimately were arrested. They were tried (along with Nelson Mandela) at the infamous Rivonia Trial. Well worth a visit!
When we were staying in Rivonia recently it was suggested to us that a visit to this museum would be interesting. We were very pleased to have been given this advise. We found our visit to be excellant and we learnt so much from all the information which was displayed and all the video clips which are situated in each...

If you really enjoy the politics of SA this is a must as the museum is done fantastically and tells one all about the Rivonia trial and Madella's involvement
if you like a little intrigue, great story telling and a fabulously maintained site and reconstructed area then this is a must. Without being on an official tour - ours through Viator - I doubt we would have seen this historical gem.
