Great small town museum. A lot of local interests. Located right beside the world famous Kenai River.

This small museum, with several buildings, is very worthwhile and takes only an hour or two. It is staffed by volunteers who know so much about the area, the homesteading families, and the log buildings on site. So worthwhile! Easy to find and well worth your visit!

If you have an interest in history, you have to stop here. Great collection of buildings from the early settlement of the area in the mid 20th century. Great place to stop. Docents lead tours through the buildings and explain homesteading on the Kenai peninsula. Very interesting. Friendly, knowledgeable volunteers.

We stopped by for a quick peak at the museum and stayed for an hour. The historical society members who staff the site offer a wealth of knowledge and personal stories. This is definitely a worthwhile break when driving across the Kenai
